A place where there is integrity, a place where there is accountability, a place they can call “home”. This Barangay Hall is the only Barangay Hall with a Day Care Center, a Health Center that the Tan Yan Kee Foundation had ever donated since way back in 1986. Ms. Valerie Tan, TYKFI Corporate Communications Officer said: “Today, the Foundation is inaugurating your Barangay Hall, Health Center, and Day Care Center. Not only as a dedication to the welfare of the people, but also an Act of Solidarity with you. To help you in your rebuilding and help you to continue to shine fourth as a community. In addition, we believed that the good governance can bring about deep and lasting change. It is “viral” in achieving almost everything from eliminating corruption to ending poverty and alleviating natural disasters. As the saying goes, “Good governance remains merely a philosophy. Thus we are making sure that your community has a venue for excellent governance and accountability.” Mr. Juan Remandaban, Representative, Senior Citizen’s Group said: “Allow me the first few minutes to express my most sincere thanks and gratitude to Ma’am Sarah and the members of the Barangay Council for allowing me to take part in this very special event we had because it needed more than seventy six years before it happened. I shall never again witness the same occasion in my few more remaining years of stay in this wonderful world God made. Very memorable because what I see with my very own eyes now is made possible not by our own but by brothers and sisters whose hearts are full of love and compassion for all of us. So therefore to you our very distinguished guests, I bow in deep appreciation and joy”. Mrs. Marlin Sydiongco, President, Women’s Organization said: “In behalf of all women here in Barangay Holy Child II, we would like to extend our sincere and deepest appreciation to the Tan Yan Kee Foundation. Your contribution to our barangay particularly this beautiful Barangay Hall building will be cherished, not only by the people of barangay Holy Child II but the entire municipality of Alangalang. This is the legacy of Tan Yan Kee Foundation. You deserve our highest praise. A big round of applause to the Tan Yan Kee Foundation. And also a big round of applause to the staff of TYKFI. It is our fervent hope that Tan Yan Kee Foundation will continue supporting us. Again, we are very very grateful for what you have done to our barangay. We salute you. Thank you very much. Hon. Sarah Apurillo, Barangay Captain, Holy Child II, Alangalang, Leyte said: “This gesture of Tan Yan Kee Foundation of giving us this beautiful building is made more meaningful because this is the first time that Tan Yan Kee Foundation is giving a Barangay Hall. First time, because ang sabi nila hindi sila nagbibigay ng Barangay Hall. Ang focus nila ay education. So, andiyan yung mga school buildings, yung mga tsinelas para sa mga bata, school bags, trainings ng mga teachers. Actually, itong Tan Yan Kee Foundation did not come about just after the typhoon Yolanda. Hindi sila bago. They have been all around the Philippines giving help more on education, livelihood, environmental concerns. Thank you for making us no. 1”. From Jurmiel Karev Bayno, Day Care pupil: “I would like to thank the Tan Yan Kee Foundation for helping us build our new Barangay Multi-purpose Hall. Now, we have our Day Care Center. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Maraming Salamat po”. |
