A two-day Directional and Spiritual Camp guided 58 graduating Senior High School students of St. Teresita’s Academy of Aritao, Nueva Vizcaya in learning and reflecting on Christian values that would prepare them in entering a new phase in their academic life.
On March 13-16, 2018, TYKFI in partnership with the LGU of Aritao, Nueva Vizcaya under Mayor Lucita Tan, brought the Early Childhood Care and Development (ECCD) Council’s training to the municipality of Aritao.
Twenty-one law students have been awarded the TYKFI-FLP Legal Scholarship Program for the school year 2017-2018. Supreme Court Acting Chief Justice Antonio T. Carpio graced the awarding ceremony for this year’s set of law scholars on March 23, 2018 at the Ateneo Professional Schools Auditorium in Makati City.
Congratulations to the scholars under TYKFI-STA Scholarship Program as they swept academic honors at the Conferment Rights held at the STA Gymnasium on May 30, 2018.
Launched in 2016, the TYKFI-STA Scholarship Program for Farmers’ Children gives hope to indigenous families in Aritao, Kayapa, and Sta. Fe, Nueva Vizcaya through the provision of quality education to the deserving children of industrious farmers.

Sister companies under the Lucio Tan Group opened the New Year with a joint campaign to bring assistance and goodwill to the victims and survivors of the Marawi Siege in Marawi City, Lanao del Sur. Carrying the company logos of the team, they trooped to the Mindanao State University (MSU) gym on January 11, 2018 and distributed packs of food and essential personal and household items to more than 400 families with the help of the MSU students.

Excerpts from message of Pamela Hsu, Current Scholar, 2nd year, BSC
First of all, I want to express, in behalf of my fellow scholars, my warm gratitude to all who are part of the UE-TYK Scholarship Program, especially to our dear Dr. Lucio C. Tan. This scholarship program has given us another experience and chance to realize our individual significance. Definitely, this opportunity is a bridge to our dreams, our goals and our own chosen passion.
Tan Yan Kee Foundation, Inc. is proud to announce the list of University of the East graduates under the TYKFI scholarship and grant program, who finished with flying colors for school year 2013-2014.
From the Manila campus, 8 graduated Cum Laude, 5 graduated Magna Cum Laude, and 1 graduated with the highest honors as Summa Cum Laude, namely Aaron Noel De Leon, BS Computer Science, garnering a GWA of 1.17. Out of the total 14 scholarship and grant graduates who all received honors, 8 graduated from BS Accountancy, 2 BS Biology, 2 BS Information Technology, 1 BS Computer Science, and 1 BS Psychology.
The Caloocan campus shined as well with 7 scholarship graduates, 6 of which graduated Magna Cum Laude and 1 Cum Laude. Out of the 7 scholarship graduates, 1 graduated BS ABCA, 2 BS Accountancy, 2 BS Electronics Communication Engineering, 1 BS Mechanical Engineering, and 1 Information Technology Entrepreneurship.

The Tan Yan Kee Foundation, Inc. and partners from the LT Group as well as beneficiaries of various TYKFI advocacies, marked what was dubbed as a happy and auspicious event, using the single Chinese character Xi, last July 13, 2013 at the PNB Financial Center.
The Tan Yan Kee Foundation, Inc. highlighted its simple year-long 25th anniversary last September 20, 2011 at the Century Park Sheraton with the launching of the commemorative book, Silver Reflections: The Tan Yan Kee Foundation at 25 and the annual U.E.-Tan Yan Kee Foundation Scholars’ Recognition Day. This follows the first quarter kick-off of the anniversary celebration with the inauguration of the Tan Yan Kee Elementary School in Balete, Sta. Fe, Nueva Vizcaya.
It’s their day. Even for just one day, they get the accolades due them. Being an academic scholar is never easy. Countless hours are spent reading, memorizing, and reviewing lessons, not to mention enduring many sleepless nights and sacrificing a huge chunk of their budding social lives in the pursuit of academic excellence.
UE-TYKFI Scholarship Program
The Tan Yan Kee Foundation, Inc. and the University of the East established the UE-TYKFI scholarship program in 1998 to provide free quality education to deserving UE undergraduate students and faculty members. Close to 1,000 students, including 12 faculty members and 60 grantees, have benefited from the program.
