Everyone can be an artist as long as one puts his heart into it. At the Tan Yan Kee Library, activities are developed to ignite love for arts and crafts for every individual, regardless of age.
Every Saturday and Sunday from May 11 to July 7, 2019, 52 young children from ages 3-12 actively participated and learned in the Tan Yan Kee Library Summer Class held at the 16th floor of San Fernando Tower, Binondo, Manila.
Anywhere in the world, Christmas is made more meaningful when shared with those in need. It is not just a season for a simple rejoicing with one’s own circle of friends but about the birth of our Lord and the sharing of this joy and love to those in need.

Though education is an important aspect of culture amongst families and amongst Filipinos in general, lack of funds and school supplies could easily be disrupting and dispiriting causing absenteeism. Thus, on September 9, 2019 the Foundation continued to reach marginalized pupils in its adopted schools in Sta. Cruz, Ilocos Sur. It brought much needed school supplies to a total 550 pupils in Babayoan, Nagtenga, and Sidaoen Elementary Schools

Creativity in every individual is innate but to unleash and fully maximize each of our potential could lead to better growth and opportunities. At Tan Yan Kee Library, young and adult students alike participated in two activities that aimed to unlock and improve creativity and imagination.

150 scholars from Grade 7 to 12 were selected to become the scholars under the TYKFI-STA Scholarship Program for Farmers Children for school year 2018-2019, the largest batch of scholars since its launch in 2016
Christmas is a time to pause and remember the ones we love and care about, as well as to think upon the things that are most meaningful in life.
At TYKFI, it is once again a time of sharing the season’s cheer and blessedness with marginalized school children from farming communities. The Foundation held Christmas programs as part of the annual food distribution project for 519 pupils in Sta. Cruz, Ilocos Sur, namely Babayoan, Nagtenga, and Sidaoen Elementary Schools. At the Tan Yan Kee Library, summer is just another time and chance to learn the Chinese language, and giving such an opportunity to the next generation is indeed close to Dr. Lucio C. Tan’s heart. Summer Cultural Classes for kids of ages three to 12 ran from May 6 to July 8, 2018 at the Tan Yan Kee Library in San Fernando Tower, Binondo, Manila. On Saturdays and Sundays, a total of 60 students participated in Chinese Literature classes.

A two-day Directional and Spiritual Camp guided 58 graduating Senior High School students of St. Teresita’s Academy of Aritao, Nueva Vizcaya in learning and reflecting on Christian values that would prepare them in entering a new phase in their academic life.
On March 13-16, 2018, TYKFI in partnership with the LGU of Aritao, Nueva Vizcaya under Mayor Lucita Tan, brought the Early Childhood Care and Development (ECCD) Council’s training to the municipality of Aritao.
Twenty-one law students have been awarded the TYKFI-FLP Legal Scholarship Program for the school year 2017-2018. Supreme Court Acting Chief Justice Antonio T. Carpio graced the awarding ceremony for this year’s set of law scholars on March 23, 2018 at the Ateneo Professional Schools Auditorium in Makati City.

UE-TYKFI Scholarship ProgramThe Tan Yan Kee Foundation, Inc. and the University of the East established the UE-TYKFI scholarship program in 1998 to provide free quality education to deserving UE undergraduate students and faculty members. Close to 1,000 students, including 12 faculty members and 60 grantees, have benefited from the program. |
