Two groups of volunteers helped the Foundation sustain the greening of the countryside by planting mangroves in Boracay last May 2015. The first group who joined the TYKFI staff in the planting activity was composed of employees of PNB-Boracay Branch and volunteer street sweepers provided by the Manocmanoc Barangay Council headed by Barangay Captain Abram Sualog. They helped plant 1,000 Mangroves (Bakauan lalaki and Pagatpat) which are native in Sitio Lugutan, Manocmanoc, Boracay Island.
The second group of planters were members of the 46th APEC Tourism Working Group who came to Boracay to appreciate and help protect the world famous tourism destination by planting mangroves last May 18, 2015. The volunteer planters from different countries from the Asia-Pacific region were also joined by observers from the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), International Air Transport Association (IATA) and other APEC partner organizations.
