    Victorias 1 & 2 benefit from Adopt-A-School

    Public schools Victorias Milling Corporation Elementary School 1 and 2 are recent recipients of educational materials under the Tan Yan Kee Foundation’s Adopt-a-school program.

    VMC ES 1 & 2, located in Victorias City and Manapla, Negros Occidental, respectively, are schools  that cater to children of those working in the sugar mill. No less than VMC President Abelardo Bugay headed the turnover of materials which included one Educational Television Infrastructure Package or ETV and 500 pieces of storybooks (per school).

    The ETV package, a highly entertaining and engaging alternative to learning, is comprised of a television, a DVD player, and 108 volumes of the TV shows Hiraya Manawari (Valtues), Bayani (History), Epol-Apol (English), Math-inik (Mathematics), and Sine-skwela (Science); it also comes with a teachers’ lesson guide.

    School principals Ann Carol Paguntalan and Charito Celorico of VMC 1 & 2 respectively, were on hand during the turnover ceremony witnessed by Department of Education’s Thelma Pendon, District Supervisor. In a brief message, Dr. Pendon was quick to emphasize the importance of the donated materials especially in efforts to improve the academic performance of the said schools.

      Education on Television (ETV) Infrastructure Project

      In partnership with the ABS-CBN Foundation E-Media, ETV packages comprising of a TV set, DVD Player and 33 updated volumes of 501 episodes of DVD Learning materials on English, Math, Science, Values, and History will be donated to public schools.
