Tan received a special citation from The Association of Young Filipino-Chinese Entrepreneurs (AYFCE) for being one of the very few icons in the business community who continues to inspire young entrepreneurs with his wisdom and passion. The awarding ceremony was the highlight of AYFCE’s 20th Anniversary Celebration held last March 16, 2012 at the Peninsula Hotel Grand Ballroom in Makati City.

The awarding ceremony was the highlight of AYFCE’s 20th Anniversary Celebration held last March 16, 2012 at the Peninsula Hotel Grand Ballroom in Makati City. The prestigious award is given to a chosen few who have served as an inspiration and source of encouragement for the Association since their early beginnings. Known to many, Dr. Lucio Tan, was instrumental in making the organization what it is today. The plaque of recognition was awarded by AYFCE Chairman Jeffrey Ng, President Roy Chua, Secretary General Reginald Yu and Honorary Chairman Eduardo Cobankiat. His Excellency President Benigno S. Aquino III graced the occasion as Keynote Speaker and the Chinese Ambassador to the Philippines, Her Excellency Ma Ke Qing, was one of the special guests.
