DepEd District Supervisor Monaliza Cabato calls the Tan Yan Kee Elementary School (TYKES) the School of Love from Dr. Lucio C. Tan. Ms. Cabato’s description puts in a short phrase the generosity of spirit of private-public sector partners who planned, built, and now run the mountaintop school that makes it possible for the very young to keep their dreams alive.
Marking its first anniversary last March 21, TYKES is proud to have raised enrolment level and providing pupils with resources to feed the hungry curiosity of the young as they gain knowledge. In simple rites, the school recalled how it was built and now their community’s source of pride and caring.
Marking its first anniversary last March 21, TYKES is proud to have raised enrolment level and providing pupils with resources to feed the hungry curiosity of the young as they gain knowledge. In simple rites, the school recalled how it was built and now their community’s source of pride and caring.
Present during the event were Municipal Mayor Hon. Teodorico DP. Padilla, Education Supervisor, Social Studies Evelyn Ramos, EPS 1, THELE Albert G. Bangunan, District Supervisor Monaliza Cabato, TYKES Principal Allan Paclit, TYKFI’s Philip Sing and staff. Allan Paclit says that March 21 is perhaps the most important for the community. Albert Bangunan recalls the first meeting with DepEd, TYKFI, and the LGU held at the old site and says “it was only a dream, but it has materialized through cooperation and a gift wrapped by the Lord.” He says they will perform even better with the :”upcoming construction of the dormitory for teachers.” Mayor Padilla took note of TYKES pupils’ excellent performance during the TYKFI’s silver anniversary as a fitting tribute to good training and education. “Education is the only inheritance that parents can give children”, he added. TYKFI’s Philip Sing enjoined the community, teachers, pupils to treasure these gifts so others who come next will be able to use these. He also noted future plans of a dormitory and a high school through the LGU as a cooperative effort for the growth of the area. |
